Don’t put your phone on job sites

The title says it all: Don’t put your phone number on job sites. Instead, put down a newly created email specifically for jobs, and then forward it to your regular email.  Here’s why:

  1. recruiters will spam you 24/7 from all kinds of countries, even after you’ve gotten a job.
  2. You will get tons of robo-dialers trying to scam you.
  3. Due to the annoyances of so many calls you won’t answer random phone calls (this is a bad habit).
  4. You’ll need to get a new phone and phone number and that phone may have already been given to recruiters from someone else.

If you do accidentally give away your phone number I recommend

adding yourself to the do not call list from the link below
